Lamb of God

Every year on Ashey Down on the Isle of Wight, three crosses are erected at Easter to remember that Jesus died on a cross alongside two criminals – The Lamb of God – a sacrifice he made to save people from their sins. The cross is empty because he rose again! The Lambs arrived right on schedule!

David Begbie

I first met David Begbie when visiting an art gallery in Mayfair on another job. His amazing work in wire mesh totally inspired me, and I have had the privilege now to meet and photograph him and his work on a few occasions.

Recently, on a visit to London I met up with David and Eva at the studio, where again I was totally captivated by sculptures, and had a lovely time swapping anecdotes

Please check out his incredible work at the forthcoming exhibition.

Solo Exhibtion of steelmesh and bronzemesh sculpture
ContiniArt UK, New Bond Street, London
26th April — 6th June 2017

David Begbie’s forthcoming London solo exhibition at ContiniArt UK will include sculpture from 1987 – 2017 spanning 30 years of sculpture using steelmesh and bronzemesh, the medium for which Begbie is renowned world-wide.
Since his first London solo exhibition at Brompton Gallery, Knightsbridge in 1984 a whole genre of steelmesh art has emerged and continues to grow.
He first discovered the extraordinary potential of his medium in 1977 as a student 40 years ago and continues to explore the infinite and timeless possibilities which the medium contains.

His transparent sculpture is as much about light as it is about substance and he transforms his seemingly inanimate machined industrial material into dynamic and evocative sculptural forms

Flashing The Famous and Shooting The Stars at Ryde Rowing Club

I gave an illustrated talk to Ryde Rowing Club about my celebrity photography on the 23rd February in their clubhouse. The room was full and money was raised in a collection afterwards for The Isle of Wight Street Pastors. I was very pleased that photographers, family and friends came to support me, the club and the charity, and listen to anecdotes from over 25 years plus of celebrity photography. I would be happy to repeat the talk at other venues, as some couldn’t attend and wanted to come. Please message me  if you are interested in hosting a talk, and let me know which local charity you would like to support.

Jailbreak York University Students reach Ryde on the Isle of Wight – in charity fundraiser

I was approached at the end of a private photography lesson in Ryde by Maggie O’Neill and her friends Joshua Fortes and Fenella O’Brien who had just travelled from York, taking part in a University stunt to raise money for children’s cancer charity Kidscan Children’s Cancer Research. After photographing them, as asked, and treating them to local fish and chips, they went on to enjoy a brief stay on the Island, before seeking a lift home. The Wightlink catamaran kindly gave them a free trip over.

Here are some of the photography testimonials I have received.

OK! Magazine is always delighted to book Graham Reading to photograph events. We know that he will not only take the fantastic pictures, but he is discreet and a good ambassador for OK! brand.

Mark Moody
Social Editor of OK! Magazine

As the owner of Vibe International Models I’ve been asked several times during the past few years, to do a shoot. Because its not about me, but my models, I have naturally declined each time. I met Graham at an event, when he was doing one of his usual celebrity shoots for OK! Magazine. I was impressed by his down to earth approach and kind nature. This combined with his great style of photography, I was convinced.

For me, as a woman, it is important that a photographer makes you feel at ease. Photography is art at the highest level. It’s not just about shooting objects, but capturing moments, moods, environment and to be more profound, souls.

Graham managed to create an environment and mood that captured the image we had in mind to perfection. For that I am grateful and it was a sincere pleasure working with him.

Graham will listen to you respectfully and work with you to achieve your visions as well as adding his own personal touch and ideas to enhance them. I can therefore highly recommend him to any model or person or client.

Graham Reading is the ‘go to’ photographer for any event. You can guarantee he will get the best shots and turn around the images in great time. I would recommend him every time.

‘I have worked with Graham on a number of shoots now and always find him to be a true professional and a fantastic photographer. He always gives great direction and has a a wicked sense of humour, creating an enjoyable atmosphere for everyone involved. He is an absolute pleasure to work with, a true gentleman and I can not wait to work with him again soon’

Georgi Barratt from series one of The Bachelor

I recently shot with Graham Reading with a super spontaneous idea in amazing locations of yellow flower beds and forest settings.

I have to say that shoot was absolutely fantastic and I really enjoyed it. Graham was extremely diverse and adaptable photo shooting my ideas and he really made me feel comfortable and relaxed. The shoot was fun, professional and really light hearted which shines through in the photographs.

The results are truly outstanding and I am overwhelmed with the final pictures. The results are to a very high standard and I would highly recommend people to use Graham Reading’s photography for an occasion even if it is for a bit of spontaneous photography.

I’d like to say a massive thank you for my amazing photographs and the feedback I have from them has been positively immense. Thank you. Laura Moore

Graham Reading is a GENIUS! Our official photos are SO lovely. Thank you!!

“ Thank you for photographing our recent conference so efficiently and unobtrusively. I am delighted with the photographs and I appreciated your flexibility in going beyond the initial brief without any hesitation.

I was impressed that you came early and stayed late to fit in with my busy schedule. The resulting set of excellent conference, team and individual photographs are ideal for me to use in the promotion of my business. I will have no hesitation in using you again and recommending you to others”.

Graham Reading is a dream to work with. He really stands out from the throng of other photographers, because not only does he create imaginative pictures, and delivers them on time, but crucially he really listens to what you want . From a PR’s perspective you want a photographer at a party who will be unobtrusive, who is friendly, but doesn’t get in the way. I have worked with him as our main photographer at The British Book Awards, as well as numerous other events, where he has photographed everyone from Jordan to J.K.Rowling. Whatever the occasion, whatever the demands, Graham always adapts, producing results that leap off the page. You don’t have to be a star to work with Graham, but he will make you look like one.

Dear Graham

I am writing to thank you for the superb service and professionalism you provided for my client’s ‘Gatsby’ party on 1st July.

The photographs as always were amazing! You succeeded in capturing the whole essence of the event on film, encapsulating forever the animation and fun and happiness generated by the party. The client was needless to say, ‘absolutely delighted’ and will contact you for more copies in due course.

Once again Graham you delivered your service in a calm and efficient manner – thank goodness for reliable suppliers – you help my job run more smoothly!

I will continue to recommend you and look forward to the next opportunity of working together.

Best Regards

Rayna Angel

Thank you both for all you did for our wedding. We love the photographs. They came out 100 times better than we expected (we mean our smiles: you captured so much so well!!) We really appreciated all you did. Thank you.

Love, Richard and Linda x

Dear Graham,

I am writing to let you know how much Doreen and I appreciate the trouble you took when photographing our two youngest granddaughters, aged seven and three. Both Doreen and I have had an excellent rapport with you from our initial meeting, as did Sasha and Chloe on the big day!

Little girls can be difficult when meeting total strangers, but they really enjoyed being the centre of attention, and they really enjoyed your use of the cricket ground for some of the photographs.

We have ended up with some lovely photographic memoires that we shall enjoy, both at the present time and as they grow older.

Best regards

Alfie and Doreen

It is always a pleasure helping you, I get pleasure from seeing somebody so talented………………….

You are a seriously talented man and I will do my best to assist you in any way I can to promote your brilliant work.

Lynn Holloway

Much as one might be tempted to write a long and flowery letter concerning the quality of Graham’s work on the occasion of my marriage to Pamela Hooley, this is not necessary. In a word, it was perfect.

I will address a couple of issues which had been of concern prior to the wedding. One was the potential for intrusiveness during the service, but Graham captured every element of it, without our even being aware of his presence.  The second concern was due to the cramped facilities at the reception; would he be able to get around to everyone?  We need not have worried on that account either – every guest was captured!

There remains little else to say beyond the fact that if you are considering Graham for a photographic project, you should have no reason to hesitate.

Dear Graham,

Thank you very much for photographing our evening event at the River Room, House of Lords on November 11th last.

What I most appreciated was you turning up so promptly and not being fazed by the high level of security and the photographic restrictions imposed quite understandably by the Palace of Westminster. Also that you instantly recognised so many of our celebrity guests such as Prince Dimitri and Princess Marina Lobanov-Rostovsky and were able to converse with them and put them at their ease.

Thank you so much for selecting and grouping the right people for the right media and for being able to obtain publicity in high profile magazines such as O.K! through your networking contacts.

Copies have been forwarded to Baroness Hayman and Lord Grocott and I am sure they will be pleased with the results.

It is nice to have a record of that fabulous room with the magical views across the Thames at dusk. I for one, think that Lord Irvine’s decision to spend £59,000  to restore it to the original August Pugin style was money well spent—what a backdrop!

With best wishes

Just a quick line to thank you so much for

doing such a fantastic job of the photos!

Everyone has said how great they are and I’m really delighted too.

So thanks so much.

You are a legend Graham! Just got my copy of OK – it’s wicked!!

Thank you SO much for this, and for making me pose with Scott, it’s very amusing to see myself in OK.

Working with Graham Reading was an amazing experience and will allow me to catapult from amateur, to professional model. His abilities as a photographer allowed for the perfect mix of artistic expression, high fashion and catalogue imagery meaning that they are extremely useful in getting an agent and professional modelling jobs. I was able to feel extremely comfortable working with Graham, even in a bikini in the snow, which made for amazing photos! It can be rare to find this level of comfort with a photographer, especially if you are just starting out and aren’t completely confident. You need someone like Graham who is able to push you to achieve the best possible photographs yet allowing you to naturally come out of your shell.

He has an amazing eye and I now have an amazing collection of stunning close ups and long shots. My photos will certainly stand out due to Graham’s adventurous and creative nature which led us to take photos in the forest, in a dress and wellington boots in the snow!

I cannot wait to work with Graham again!

Thank you so much

Henrietta Moore

Dear Graham,

I would like to thank you for making my husband’s Christmas so special. He absolutely adores the portrait of me that you have delivered. I thoroughly enjoyed the photo session with you in the atelier. You have captured my vision completely and you have made me very comfortable while working. You have provided an excellent service and I will gladly recommend you to all our friends. It has been a pleasure and a real honour to be photographed from someone who captures the royals and celebrities on daily basis.

Wishing you the best of luck.

Lenka Isabella O’Neill, Managing Director, Tamsin International Ltd

Last year, Graham did some lovely family group photographs for us. We had various combinations of kids, grandma, parents and dog and all were creatively staged, capturing the different personalities within the family (even the dog!). Graham is a real perfectionist, yet he managed to make sure we all felt relaxed and looked natural.  We all enjoyed the sitting and really treasure the beautiful photographs.

“I had a fab time on my photo shoot with Graham Reading. When I first saw Graham’s portfolio, I would never have thought that I could produce a decent photo for Graham. Luckily thanks to his Creativity and knowledge of the camera, I was pleasantly surprised and delighted with the results. He is really great at making the customer feel comfortable and is full of weird and wacky ideas to make sure that you look smokin’ hot in that photo. Even after a year, Graham’s photo of me is still my facebook profile. Thanks Graham, nice work!*****”

Hannah Roberts

‘We asked Graham to come down to Cadiz, Spain and photograph the start of ‘The Columbus Run’ this was a solo row across the Atlantic. Graham took a real chance on us as we were not well known at the time and sponsorship had been tricky. The press that resulted from Graham’s photo’s and input was staggering and he is a joy to work worth – thanks Graham !”

Leven Brown – Ocean Rower – Quadruple world record holder.

‘Having been a model for a commercial shoot Graham was undertaking, I was impressed with his work and the way he came across. Since then, I have had done several shoots with Graham for my personal portfolio and also used him for my recent wedding. Graham is an utmost professional, who will deliver the photos you are looking for, as well being a lovely man to work with’.

‘Amazing level of professionalism and artistic approach! I feel privileged to be photographed by Graham!’.

I had seen Graham’s work from a friend who had been photographed by him and so i approached him to do me some pictures too.

He was totally open and up for whatever ideas I had and loves to please whoever he is shooting! I felt completely comfortable and had a lot of fun… we spent most of the day at his studio trying all different ideas and also went out into his garden and the swimming pool. I would definitely love him to take more photo’s in the future.

‘ I have been photographed on several occasions by Graham and have always found him pleasant and easy to work with.

“The whole atmosphere was relaxed but still professional, the studio is amazing and Graham is a truly amazing photographer who comes up with great ideas, is very inspirational and makes it all fun. After a day in his studio I got some amazing photos and a great experience. It’s definitely not my last time working with him ?”

“Graham has taken some exceptional pictures of me over the years. I am an actress and presenter on sky, and have appeared in numerous magazines. There is always a lovely atmosphere when working with Graham and as an actress I completely trust Graham’s artistic eye. He always knows just the right angle to capture a moment. I adore working with him as he is a gentle relaxed person who brings the best out in all his subjects, moreover his photographs have a magic and depth about them which is second to none. It is always privilege and pleasure to work with him.

Candice Fanning, Actress and Sky Presenter.”

I met Graham when he was working at a big charity ball as the photographer…next thing I know, my picture was in OK! magazine!

We kept in touch and I then hired him to take pictures at my birthday party with 150 guests…and Graham was brilliant..he really captured the evening, included everybody and got some really fantastic shots – especially of my family. He didn’t impose or have to stop our fun during the evening, just did his job! I had so many pictures to choose from afterwards, it became very difficult to choose..but was left with amazing photos of a very exciting and memorable night that went far too quickly… and the photos showed everyone else having a really great night too.

It was a lovely surprise to bump into him recently, working at another big celebrity charity ball, which then featured as a fabulous double page photo spread in OK! the next week… did I make it onto the photo spread? Of course!!

Sam Smith

“Graham’s passion for photography never fails to come across. His energy is infectious and, consequently, my photos always capture the fun and enjoyment that was had throughout the photo shoot. I now have pictures that I am proud to show to others rather than skip past!”.

Jassmine Vilkhu

Hi Graham

Photoshoot with you was one of the great things which happen with me in London

“We were privileged to be able to draw upon Graham’s experience and talent to give our marketing brochures and website that extra professional look. Graham spent two photo shoots with my team who all felt the experience was great fun. Graham was able to quickly put us all at ease and the end products made us look great. Not only is Graham a great guy, funny, and witty, but also a top class professional.”

Thanks for making me look great Graham!

Graham is such a positive, patient and imaginative photographer to work with. He is always utterly professional in his approach and some of the images he has created are absolute classics. There is enormous fun to be had on a photo shoot as he makes you feel very at ease with the camera and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.

” It was a great pleasure to be working with Graham at our UK Finals of our Miss Earth Event in Leamington Spa in August 2009.

Graham spent a lot of time taking high quality photographs of the girls involved which were then used for a super feature in OK magazine. Fantastic Photographer! Highly Recommended. ”

Jim Ramsay

Miss Earth Scotland Regional Organiser

I was photographed by Graham Reading in 1990 when the new patron Cliff Richard visited the International Charity called Acet (Aids Care Education & Training).

Graham was responsible for taking the official photographs. He spent time at the London offices following Sir Cliff around as he met the different staff and some of the people the charity were caring for. He showed sensitivity in taking the photos but captured the event and provided the charity with many photographs that could be used for publicity.

He was able to help people relax and caught positive images of all involved. I still have the photos he took that I was in and often show it to friends and family as I feel it is a really good shot.

I first met Graham at a busy society function where he stood out from the rest of the “pack” because of his friendly and disarming manner. His photographs of me have since been published in OK! magazine. Also an accomplished studio and location photographer, Graham is the consummate professional at all times. His relaxed approach puts his subjects at ease, which is essential for getting the very best out of people. For any type of photographic assignment, Graham’s your man!

‘I have had the honour to be photographed by Graham Reading on a number of occasions. Graham has the ability to make the model feel at ease, but even more importantly feel beautiful. As a photographer, he picks up very quickly the style and shot you want, whilst adding his own flair of expertise. What most people don’t know about Graham, especially if they are looking at his website for the first time, it’s his infectious laugh and sense of humour, making every photo shoot a complete joy.’

Brook Burfitt-Dons

“I have had the priviledge to work with Graham on 3 separate occasions. Each shoot was conducted professionally and I was greeted every time by an enthusiastic and easy to get along with photographer. Graham will accommodate to you, going above and beyond the call of duty and will always make sure you’re comfortable and feeling at ease. Graham isn’t one of those photographers who simply stand there and take a photo. Instead, he will always strive to get that perfect angle or the perfect light and is always ready to go on an adventure with each shoot. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with Graham again and I wish him all the best for his bright future.”

Emma Martin

Just had a look at all of your pictures, you truly are a fantastic photographer. Hopefully I can be as good as you.

I think maybe the Oscars were not the only ones at the party who were drinking? Moonlight won best picture, but not until after La La Land was voted the Academy Award for Best Picture – oops. Hiccup!
