I remember watching Val Doonican performing live at the BBC in Shepherds Bush.I was sorry to hear the passed away. This photograph was taken in 2010 at a book signing in Gerrards Cross.

Appley Beach in Ryde, Isle of Wight was the spectacular location for an amazing family day out in July with a huge gathering of pirates – Shipwreck Isle. Mark Mussell asked Charlotte Godwin [both from Bournemouth] to marry her, during ‘Tell me lies’ [Charlotte’s favourite song] sung by Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac at the closing set of The Isle of Wight Festival on Suday 14th June. Was the heart shaped firework a tribute? They celebrated with champagne in The Zebra Bar and Champagne Garden on the Festival site. She said yes, by the way!
